Element Moussem of Tan-Tan (Morocco)

Inscribed in 2008 (3.COM) on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (originally proclaimed in 2005)

Title as submitted EN: The Moussem of Tan-Tan in southwest Morocco is an annual gathering of nomadic people of the Sahara region. The festivity provides a place for exchange and for practising a wide range of cultural expressions, such as musical performances, popular songs, games, contests and poetry.
Title as submitted FR: Le Moussem de Tan-Tan, ville du sud-ouest du Maroc, est un rassemblement annuel de nomades sahariens. Cette fête offre un lieu d’échange et l’occasion de pratiquer diverses formes d’expression culturelle : musique, chants populaires, jeux, concours ou poésie.
Title as submitted ES: El Moussem de Tan-Tan, en el suroeste de Marruecos, es un encuentro anual de poblaciones nómadas del Sáhara. Esta festividad da lugar a intercambios diversos y a la manifestación de una amplia gama de expresiones culturales : interpretaciones musicales, cantos populares, juegos, concursos y poesía.
